MBC is a functional combat system, in which you can practice defense against blade weapons, knife against knife situations and unarmed operational combat.
The exercises are hands-on and combine the best aspects of modern melee and self-defense systems in addition to Filipino, Chinese and Japanese martial arts. The purpose of the exercises is to develop coordination, motor skills and muscle memory, as well as to make intuitive certain patterns of body use that work regardless of the situation.
Like aikido, MBC is a defensive sport - though in MBC, the perspective is much more practical. Training is based on harnessing the attackers power and resolving conflict situations as quickly as possible so that they don't escalate - and on the other hand, managing situations that have already escalated and protecting oneself.
